Constipation Relief with Colonics
May 25th, 2018
Constipation is one of the most common medical complaints. It can be an acute or chronic symptom (it is not a disease) in which bowel movements occur less often than usual. The ideal bowel movement should be at least twice a day with an inoffensive odor. An approximate adequate transit time is considered between 12 and 24 hours per meal.
Constipation can alternate with diarrhea, stools are usually hard and dry and often painful to pass.
There can be incomplete emptying of the bowels and bleeding can occur due to straining. When stools are very small due to lack of dietary fiber, the muscles around the anus are unable to grip them properly to eliminate them. The stools dry up and go back into the colon, shrink more and cause build up and
block the passage.
Constipation can occur at any age, however it is more common in women than men. According to the
American College of Gastroenterology approximately 45 million people experience constipation
symptoms every year. Annual laxative sales are over $720 million dollars. In addition misdiagnosis of
constipation is quiet common. Constipation is rarely serious, but if it drags on it can lead to:
– Bowel obstruction
– Spastic colon
– Chronic constipation
– Laxative dependency
Constipation can result from not getting enough water, lack of fibre in ones diet, not enough exercise,
an anal fissure, bad food choices, Kidney failure, colon or rectal cancer, depression, abnormal high levels
of calcium in the blood, hypothyroidism, illnesses requiring prolonged bed rest and many more
conditions. It can also be a side effect of antihistamines, aspirin, beta blockers , aluminum salts in
antacids, and many other medications.
Colonics can offer immediate constipation relief and it can tone and reshape your colon back to health,
so muscles function on their own again. It can relieve heavy bloating, boost digestion and increase
energy among other benefits.
Colonics are contraindicated when you are:
– In your first trimester of pregnancy
– You have ulcerative colitis or proctitis (inflammation of the rectum and anus)
– You have colon cancer
– You are currently using steroids
Colon therapy together with changes in lifestyle, diet, exercise can help to restore normal bowel
To your good health
