Sometimes, an internal cleanse involves colon hydrotherapy or colonic irrigation, which uses filtered, temperature-controlled water to gently clean and exercise the colon or large intestine, your body’s internal waste-elimination system. Colon hydrotherapy is designed to flush toxins and fecal debris that may have built up on the colon wall, impairing the body’s ability to eliminate waste and even, in severe cases, distorting the colon. As well, some doctors recommend colon hydrotherapy as a preparatory measure for a colonoscopy.

Both types of internal cleansing aid in the body’s detoxification. According to Dr. Arthur E. Brawer, accumulated waste material may get reabsorbed by the body, overwhelming other purification organs, such as the liver, the kidneys, and the skin, and triggering a variety of illnesses and conditions. Also, because the colon handles waste for all of the body, internal cleanses are used to prevent general toxemia and to restore health to a malfunctioning or sluggish colon.

Your visit
Before any internal cleansing, you will have completed a medical case history and discussed treatment options and procedures with your therapist. A colon hydrotherapy session usually takes about 45 minutes, but clearing an hour is recommended. During a colon cleanse, the therapist gently introduces filtered water into the colon through the rectum, sometimes using special massage techniques to stimulate the release of stored matter.

Your modesty is preserved at all times, and your safety is ensured. The therapy takes place in a private room with proper draping. Our state-of-the-art equipment has an exceptional water purification system, and we use sterile specula for insertion into the rectum, which eliminates any possible contamination to the client from a previous treatment. Also, all waste is transported discretely into drain lines, without any offensive odours and without comprising your dignity. After each therapy session, the unit is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.
